Walking

I like to try and keep my weight under control.  But because of an old injury to my ankle most exercising is out.  So walking is about the only exercise that I’m able to do & not injure myself in anyway.

I love being outdoors, so walking outside is what I like to do best.  This past winter I tried to keep up doing my walking by walking inside at a local building that allows people to come in & walk for free.  I kept it up for a while but the building itself isn’t heated & with the winter we had stopped walking all together.  I know, I know shame on me.  LOL

So spring has finally arrived & it’s finally warm enough to start walking outside again.  Walking by yourself for a full hour no music or anything else you have a lot of time to just think, plus the time just crawls by.  But today I made my son go walking with me, see they didn’t have school today because it was Easter break.  So he had a friend over & spent all morning inside on a nice day like today.  So when I went walking he went with me.

Time goes so much faster when you’re walking with someone else also. Thirty minutes flies by in no time at all & that’s usually about the amount I can get someone to walk with me.  Then I walk the other thirty on my own.

I know your thinking how can just walking help keep your weight down?  But it actually does, if you’ll eat kind of right.  By that I mean not eating junk food all the time & trying to get your fruits & veggies in.  Then walking an hour a day as fast as you can walk without jogging or running.  It does help.  It will take longer to get weight off by just walking buy if that’s all you can do then it’s better than nothing.  You just have to make the commitment to yourself that you’re going walking every day.

Easter egg

This last weekend was Easter & my husband decided to do a BBQ for his family Saturday evening.  Now his brother has two little girls, so he wanted to hide some eggs so they could have a Easter egg hunt.  Of course several years ago I had all kinds of Easter eggs but our son is 13 & no longer wants to hunt Easter eggs.  So I have passed the plastic Easter eggs onto other family members.  We had to buy the plastic Easter eggs to be able to hide them for the girls.

Well we started the BBQ grill got the food cooked & still no little girls.  My husbands family is one that no matter what they are always late.  But this was getting ridiculous it was starting to get dark how are they going to hunt Easter eggs in the dark?  Everyone kept trying to call him to see where he & the girls where, but a partly his phone had died.

Finally he showed up with the girls, of course the was getting cold so we had to heat the hamburgers back up.  The girls where all ready to hunt Easter eggs, so now what?  Well we decided to put up as many lights as we could outside to light up the yard a little.  Then my husband came in & got the girls & adults some flash light.  Now let the Easter egg hunting begin.

Hunting Easter eggs in the dark was something I’ve never done before & neither has our son.  But this was such a great idea, even though it wasn’t the intended way to Easter egg hunt that day.  The girls & adults had fun trying to find the Easter eggs in the dark.  The Easter eggs that where suppose to be easy for the youngest, you know just laying in the grass.  Well these Easter eggs became the hardest ones to find.

The kids & adults found all but one of the Easter eggs.  Of course it was found the next day when there was light to look for it.lol   So if you’re looking to put a different turn on your kids Easter egg hunt next year, you might want to try hunting the eggsin the dark.  You could even give them a flash light in their Easter basket & tell them they will need it later to hunt the eggs.

Getting Sick

I think I’ve caught the bug that has being going around our town.  Cause I feel like I’m getting
sick, I’m so sick of getting sick!   I’m actually not one that gets sick very often,  I will usually only get the flu once every two or three years.  When it comes to getting a cold, I usually only get one a year if that.

Well last month I got a cold was almost over it & came down with it again.  I know I shouldn’t be complaining cause there’s people that get sick all the time.  It’s just the thing is when you’re used to not getting sick very often & then you’re getting sick every month or so.  It’s discouraging.

Now I’m not a health nut, so I don’t eat very healthy.  I do try to eat my veggies as much as possible.  I try & do a little bit of exercising, which is usually walking outside.  But since we’ve been in winter I was no longer walking.  Maybe cutting out the exercise is what has caused my immune system to slack a little.  I also take some of the best vitamins (in my opinion) you can buy.   I suppose maybe just cutting out one of these three things is why I’m getting sick more often now.

Well now that spring is finally here I guess I can get out & start walking again.  Hopefully that will help me to keep from getting sick anymore.  Of course maybe this isn’t the reason at all that I’m getting sick lately.  I just don’t know for sure.  The only thing I know is that I don’t like this getting sick every month!!  I’m a pretty active person & when it’s not too cold out I love being outside.  I usually stay pretty active inside the house even in the winter time.  So this getting sick & not feeling like doing anything is for the birds!

Hopefully this Blog finds you healthy & not under the weather like me.  Have a Great Day

When it rains it pours

I’m sure you’ve heard of the saying when it rains it pours.  This has been the story of our life lately it seems like.  Now I’m the type of person that tries to always look on the bright side of things.  Because I know there are people that have it far worse off than me.  But for today’s Blog I decide to talk about when it rains it pours.

Last year the fuel pump went out on the car, then we needed to get it licensed yet it was broke down.  Got that fixed, then a couple months later the radiator in the truck went out, guess what renewal for it came right after it broke down also.  Both of the vehicles needed an inspection before getting the licensed.  When it rains it pours.

Fast ward to now, our car we’ve had for 6 years or so, not one accident in all that time.  Got backed into, broke the turn signal lens & cracked the body, right under the light.  The person did let us know about it.  My husband & a friend where able to repair the body of the car, ordered a light replacement from ebay.  So got the car fixed then the water pump goes out on the new(to us) truck we bought in August.  So a few days after getting the car all fixed up my husband asked me, did the car have that much paint gone before & I just didn’t notice?  I looked at it & said, No it wasn’t like that.  The car got hit again same fender, but this time the person didn’t say anything about it.  Plus it actually did more damage & the fender is not only scraped to the metal it’s also cracked at the tire.  Also the Check in Engine light is now coming on.  Going to be down to no vehicle pretty soon.  When it rains it pours.

So another thing that has been going on now for several months, I started working online.  I’m using Face Book for my business, so because of this Face Book thinks I’m not a real person & keeps putting blocks on my account.  My first profile I had they won’t let me back into it at all.  So I made another, I was locked out of it for 13 days.  Finally got back into my account now I’m blocked from posting in groups or joining groups.  Today I found out that I’m blocked from sending friend requests & sending messages to people I’m not already friends with.  I mean really?  Face Book is a free site & I’ve proven that I’m a real person, yet they are still blocking me from making new friends.  When it rains it pours.

We’ve had family things going on now for almost a year.  They seem to get better, then worse & then even worse.  But I don’t want to go into those details.  When it rains it pours.

I have my family, a roof over my head, food on the table & for the most part my health.  Those are things that I can be thankful for.  Because I know there are people that haven’t even eaten this week.  So I don’t really have anything to complain about.  I just wanted to get my when it rains it pours stories out.  I have so many more for over this last year, but still nothing come pairs to not having enough to eat.  So I will not go on.  I would like you to remember: when it rains it pours in your life & it doesn’t seem like there’s an end in sight, it could always be worse.  Plus through these hard times it usually makes you into a better person.
