Easter egg

This last weekend was Easter & my husband decided to do a BBQ for his family Saturday evening.  Now his brother has two little girls, so he wanted to hide some eggs so they could have a Easter egg hunt.  Of course several years ago I had all kinds of Easter eggs but our son is 13 & no longer wants to hunt Easter eggs.  So I have passed the plastic Easter eggs onto other family members.  We had to buy the plastic Easter eggs to be able to hide them for the girls.

Well we started the BBQ grill got the food cooked & still no little girls.  My husbands family is one that no matter what they are always late.  But this was getting ridiculous it was starting to get dark how are they going to hunt Easter eggs in the dark?  Everyone kept trying to call him to see where he & the girls where, but a partly his phone had died.

Finally he showed up with the girls, of course the was getting cold so we had to heat the hamburgers back up.  The girls where all ready to hunt Easter eggs, so now what?  Well we decided to put up as many lights as we could outside to light up the yard a little.  Then my husband came in & got the girls & adults some flash light.  Now let the Easter egg hunting begin.

Hunting Easter eggs in the dark was something I’ve never done before & neither has our son.  But this was such a great idea, even though it wasn’t the intended way to Easter egg hunt that day.  The girls & adults had fun trying to find the Easter eggs in the dark.  The Easter eggs that where suppose to be easy for the youngest, you know just laying in the grass.  Well these Easter eggs became the hardest ones to find.

The kids & adults found all but one of the Easter eggs.  Of course it was found the next day when there was light to look for it.lol   So if you’re looking to put a different turn on your kids Easter egg hunt next year, you might want to try hunting the eggsin the dark.  You could even give them a flash light in their Easter basket & tell them they will need it later to hunt the eggs.
